Advisories Issued for Lakes, Beaches
Several Iowa beaches are under E. coli advisories, impacting summer activities.
The Iowa Environmental Council and DNR have issued E. coli advisories for eleven beaches across the state, impacting popular summer destinations. These beaches include Backbone Beach, Beed’s Lake Beach, Black Hawk Beach, Denison Beach, Lake Darling Beach, and Lake Manawa Beach, among others.
The advisories were put in place due to elevated E. coli levels, which pose health risks to swimmers. Authorities recommend avoiding swimming at these locations until further notice. Regular monitoring and testing are ongoing to ensure public safety.
