Atlantic Tops District 5; Harlan Wrestlers Compete Strongly
Atlantic dominated District 5 in Glenwood, sending several wrestlers to the state meet at the Casey’s Center. Harlan grapplers (Kimman, Sandquist, Stephens, Gubbels) fought deep in the bracket — read full results and coach comments.
Atlantic’s boys wrestlers made a strong showing at the District 5 meet in Glenwood, earning multiple berths to the state tournament at the Casey’s Center.
Several Atlantic wrestlers reached finals or won titles — including Braxton Hass (132), Jayden Harter (150) and Donovan Hedrington (190). Dayton Van Horn, Keaton Schroeder, Landon Hagen, Draven Smith and Travin Thomas also advanced to state as champions or runners-up.
Harlan wrestlers were in the mix: Avery Kimman (132), Nathan Sandquist (138), Jaden Stephens (175) and Nick Gubbels (215) all faced tough losses to Atlantic competitors but competed deep into the bracket.
The meet featured local matchups and set the stage for the state tournament next month. Harlan fans may be especially interested in the head-to-head results and which area wrestlers will represent us at the Casey’s Center.
