Barry Jacobsen Retires from Myrtue Medical Center After 30 Years

Barry Jacobsen, the Chief Executive Officer of Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, has announced his retirement at the end of this year after nearly 30 years of service to the community. Jacobsen initially joined the hospital as Chief Financial Officer and became CEO in 2009.

Under his leadership, Myrtue Medical Center achieved significant milestones, including national recognition as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital and multiple accolades from the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX™. His tenure saw crucial facility expansions, notably the upcoming clinic renovation, set to complete in December.
