Sharon Rae Loeffelholz, a beloved member of the Harlan community, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2025, at the age of 68. Born in Le Mars, Iowa, she grew up near Minden and was a standout in high school rodeo, even serving as queen of the West Pottawattamie Saddle Club.
Sharon had a varied career, including stints at a bank and as a waitress at Ember’s Restaurant in Avoca. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication to family, especially her four children—Justin, Amanda, David, and Aimee—and her six cherished grandchildren.
A passionate equestrian, Sharon was actively involved in the Woodbine Saddle Club. Her generosity and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rodeo Grounds in Woodbine at a future date, with details to follow.
