Trudy Salvo, a cherished member of the Harlan community, passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Council Bluffs on January 31, 1948, Trudy touched many lives throughout her decades in Harlan, where she and her husband, JC, raised their family.

Trudy was actively involved in community and church activities at St. Michael’s Parish, where she served as a cantor and participated in various clubs and organizations. Notably, she had a profound impact as a private academic tutor for over 15 years, dedicated to the education and growth of local students.

Trudy’s love for family shone brightly, as she was not only a devoted mother to her four children but also a doting grandmother. The Salvos shared many adventures, traveling extensively and creating lasting memories.

Her legacy includes not only her loving family—survived by JC, her son, daughters, and grandchildren—but also the countless friends she made along her journey.

A vigil service will take place on June 29 in Omaha, followed by a mass and burial on June 30.
