Rex Gene “Skip” Sorenson, originally from Harlan, Iowa, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at the age of 64 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Skip was a beloved husband and father, known for his deep love of family and a cheerful spirit that brought joy to those around him. He is survived by his wife, Carrie, their children—Ryan, Kylie (and husband Dakota), Mollie (and husband Casey), Cami, and Brielle—along with grandchildren Kinsley, Charlie, and Hunter.
Professionally, Skip was the Chief Financial Officer for Mike Thompson’s RV, where he was highly respected for his dedication. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and cherished family vacations to Newport Beach.
A celebration of Skip's life will take place on February 22, 2026, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Porter’s Neck Country Club, welcoming family and friends to share their memories of him.
