Beloved Harlan Native Ronald Jensen Passes Away at 87

Ronald Keith Jensen, a beloved Harlan native, passed away on October 12, 2025, at age 87 in Branson, Missouri. Born on April 18, 1938, in Harlan, Iowa, he was the son of Homer and Mary Jensen and a proud 1957 graduate of Harlan High School.

Ron served in the Army from 1958 to 1962 and married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Eggert, on October 8, 1958, in Harlan. After his military service, he worked as a supervisor at IBP until his retirement in 1997, afterwards relocating to Branson.

Known for his love of NASCAR and football, particularly Iowa State games, Ron enjoyed spending time with family and participating in local activities like bowling and summer vacations. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2013 and found joy in attending meetings and helping others in his congregation.

Ron is survived by Kathy, their five children, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
