Harlan native Tanya Louise Herzberg, 51, passed away on July 3, 2025, in Onalaska, Washington, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 30, 1973, in Harlan, Iowa, Tanya's journey took her through Avoca before she graduated high school and moved to Omaha, Nebraska for college.
After marrying Luke Herzberg on June 8, 2003, in Sheridan, Oregon, the couple settled in Onalaska, where they welcomed their son, Michael, in 2005. Tanya's vibrant personality and deep love for animals made her cherished by family, friends, and colleagues at Steck Medical Group.
Known for her baking and unique quilting creations, Tanya's artistic spirit touched many lives. She is survived by her husband Luke, son Michael, mother Monika, and siblings, among others.
A celebration of life will be held at the Mason Jar Gathering Barn in Onalaska on July 27 at 4 PM, with another event planned in Iowa at a later date. Her legacy of kindness and creativity will forever be remembered.
