Beloved Harlan Ties Remembered in Brenda Graves' Legacy

Brenda L. Graves, 83, a beloved matriarch from Wauwatosa, passed away surrounded by family on July 6, 2025. Originally from Columbus, Nebraska, she was known for her vibrant spirit and deep love for her family.

Brenda, who met her husband Charles Graves from Harlan, Iowa, at Sioux Falls College, shared a life filled with love and laughter. Married for 61 years, they raised three children—Mark, Scott, and Julie—while cherishing their seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A devoted sports fan, she passionately supported the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Wisconsin Badgers, and most importantly, her family during their sporting events.

Brenda's warmth extended beyond her family; she was known for being generous and involved in her church community. A lover of music, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing hymns, even in her later years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 25, 2025, at First Baptist Church of West Allis, with visitation at 2:00 PM. Contributions can be made in her memory to causes meaningful to her family.
