Carroll's Second-Half Surge Overwhelms Harlan
Carroll surged in the second half, hitting seven 3s to beat Harlan 66-40 at Harlan — Jared Mohr had a 16-12 double-double and Harlan’s top scorer was limited to six as Carroll rolls into district play 17-5.
HARLAN — Carroll finished the regular season with a 66-40 victory over Harlan Tuesday night at Harlan.
The seventh-ranked Tigers are now 17-5 and will open Class 3A district play at home against Perry on Monday.
Carroll was just 1-for-12 from long range in the first half but buried seven 3-pointers in the second. Coach Randy Bissen credited better transition scoring, attacking the basket and strong defense for the turnaround.
Jared Mohr led Carroll with 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Trey Tassell added 15 points and six boards, and Mac Collison scored 13.
Carroll led 15-8 after one, 25-15 at halftime and 42-32 after three. Harlan falls to 7-13, and Carroll held Harlan’s leading scorer, Dallas McDowell, to six points.
