CDS Global, Inc. has announced it will close its facility in Harlan by February 2025, impacting 94 employees. The company, a subsidiary of Hearst Corporation based in Des Moines, provides subscription and fulfillment services and has operated in Harlan for over 45 years.

The announcement comes as part of the Iowa Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) program. CDS Global, which has multiple locations in Iowa, owns a sizable office building in Harlan measuring 54,327 square feet on 8.3 acres.

Local officials have yet to comment on the closure, and the company did not respond to requests for further information.
