Community Gathering to Discuss Tornado Lessons and Preparedness

Shelby County is set to host a program on June 4th that will focus on the lessons learned from the tornado disaster that struck on April 26, 2024.
The event, taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the C.G. Therkildsen Activity Center in Harlan, aims to educate the community on the impact of the storm, which affected around 70 homes across a thirty-mile stretch.
Alex Londo, the Shelby County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator, emphasizes that this is an important gathering for everyone, regardless of whether they were directly impacted by the tornado. Featured speakers will include landowners who experienced the disaster firsthand.
