Community Gathers to Honor Cecil Blum's Legacy
The Harlan community is invited to honor the legacy of Cecil Blum, a beloved Denison resident who touched many lives. Join friends and family at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial, and celebrate a life filled with love.
Cecil Blum, a 74-year-old resident of Denison, Iowa, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his wife, Shawn Blum, and their children, Erin Mengwasser and Brent VanBibber, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harlan residents may recognize the Blum family, as Cecil is survived by several family members from the area, including siblings Garry and Candi Blum, and Bryan Blum.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 11 AM at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, where the community is invited to come together in remembrance. A rosary will precede the service, starting at 5 PM on Monday, March 24th, with visitation following until 8 PM.
Burial will be held at the Harlan Cemetery. Pauley Jones Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
