Community Mourns Loss of Avoca's Robert R. Hein
The Harlan community comes together to remember Robert R. Hein, a beloved Avoca resident who touched many hearts. His passing leaves a significant void, and family and friends can pay their respects on December 23 at Fouts Funeral Home.
Robert R. Hein, 83, of Avoca, Iowa, passed away on December 10, 2025, at the Elm Crest Care Center in Harlan.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and daughters, Melissa Whitney and Karen Hein, along with granddaughters Jessica and Hope. Robert is also remembered by his siblings and many friends, including his honorary son, Vince Ploen.
A visitation is scheduled for December 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
