Harlan residents are mourning the passing of Tami Petersen, who passed away at her home in Spokane, WA, on July 5, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on July 21, 1960, in Harlan, Iowa, Tami was known for her vibrant spirit and infectious joy.
She began her education in nearby Elkhorn and went on to excel in basketball at Grand View College and Gonzaga University, remaining a lifelong fan of both Gonzaga and Iowa Hawkeyes sports.
Tami dedicated 35 years to working as the Mailroom Manager for Spokane Colleges, where she left a lasting impression with her humor and kindness. Her laughter brightened the lives of friends, family, and colleagues alike.
Funeral services are set for August 2, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church, with a luncheon to follow. The family requests that memorial donations be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church.
