The HCHS Cyclones wrestling team recently wrapped up their performance at a weekend tournament, finishing 19th out of 22 schools with a total of 27 points, trailing behind Lewis Central, the tournament winner.
Head Coach Tarah Devlin-Lawler praised her team for their determination and hard work as the season approaches its end. Notable performances included Elle Stephens, who achieved a rapid victory by pinning her opponent in 20 seconds during the quarterfinals.
Kyrsten Madden also showcased her skills with a pin against Audubon's Liv Inman, marking her best performance of the season. Although Danica Schwery and Hallie Lopez didn't secure wins, Coach Devlin-Lawler emphasized their effort against tough competition and their eagerness to improve.
The Cyclones will compete again on Monday at Red Oak High School, aiming for one last practice round before regionals on Friday. Fans are encouraged to support the team as they prepare for this crucial stage of the season.
