Harlan Community Mourns Loss of Jim Hulsebus
The Harlan community is deeply saddened by the passing of Jim Hulsebus, a beloved native and dedicated family man. Remembering his vibrant life from athletics to coaching, join us in honoring this exceptional individual who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
James Thomas Hulsebus, a Harlan native, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at the age of 71 in Rochester, MN.
Born on April 7, 1953, Jim was an active student at Harlan Community High School, excelling in track and cross-country and earning a place in the National Honor Society. He graduated in 1971 and later obtained a business degree from A.I.B. in Des Moines.
Jim married Pearl Manz in 1977 and built a successful career at Energy Economics Inc. in Rochester. He was passionate about sports, enjoyed coaching his sons, and loved family trips to national parks.
He is survived by his wife, sons, grandsons, and brother. A memorial service will be held on December 30, 2024, at Evangel United Methodist Church in Rochester.
