Harlan Community Mourns the Loss of Local Hero Don Morgan
The Harlan community remembers Don Morgan, a beloved local hero whose impact spanned law enforcement to entrepreneurship. Join us in honoring his legacy at his celebration of life services, reflecting on a life devoted to family, mentorship, and community.

Donald Bryan Morgan, 61, of Kennard, Nebraska, passed away on April 13, 2025. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Reach Church in rural Blair, followed by private family graveside services.
Born on May 24, 1963, in Parsons, Kansas, Don was a dedicated law enforcement officer and served with the Washington County Sheriff's office. After retiring in 2019, he fulfilled his dream of opening Smoke on Arrival BBQ and later founded The Church venue in Kennard.
Don enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his family, especially his two sons. Known for his positive outlook on life, he was active in his community and church, mentoring many throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Lanette, and their sons Dylan and Garrett. Memorials are being accepted for later designation. For more information, visit the original article: here.
