Harlan Cyclones Wrestling Seeks Success with Strong Start
Harlan's Boys Wrestling team is on track for a standout season, with seniors Spencer Fink and Jesse Jens dominating their opening matches. Coach Bendorff is hopeful for new success, as the team's morale soars. Catch the action as they compete at St. Albert tonight!
Harlan's Boys Wrestling team is off to a strong start this season, with Coach Adam Bendorff expressing optimism about the team's potential. Seniors Spencer Fink and Jesse Jens both excelled in their season opener, winning their weight classes with impressive records. Fink went 3-0, while Jens, known for his unique grappling style, finished with a 4-0 score.
Both athletes reached the state competition last year but did not medal; however, Coach Bendorff believes this year could be different. Senior Brody McKinley, another state competitor, had a tough outing but is expected to bounce back. The team also welcomes experienced Senior Heavyweight Adam Spray and promising freshmen Coy Obrecht and Jamison Clark.
Unlike previous years, the morale and commitment among the wrestlers are high, suggesting a solid season ahead. The Cyclones will compete at St. Albert tonight and participate in a tournament at Riverside this Saturday.
