Ten Harlan FFA members embarked on an exciting trip to the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana, from October 22-25. They joined students from four other Iowa FFA chapters, sharing a charter bus for the journey.
The group began their adventure with a tour of the Kinze Manufacturing Plant in Williamsburg, Iowa, learning how planters and grain carts are designed and produced. They also visited Hummel Livestock in Cabery, Illinois, gaining insights into livestock breeding.
During their stay, Harlan FFA members participated in agricultural tours at facilities like Ozark Fisheries and Montrose Alpaca Farm. At the Oinking Acres Farm Rescue and Sanctuary, they interacted with rescued animals, deepening their understanding of animal care and rescue efforts.
The highlights of the convention included attending the Opening Session at Lucas Oil Stadium, featuring keynote speeches and a concert exclusive to attendees. Members also explored the Career Show and Expo, which showcased over 400 agricultural companies and colleges.
