Harlan Girls Basketball Rides Winning Streak into Break

The Harlan Girls Basketball team is heading into winter break with an encouraging 4-2 record, riding on a four-game winning streak. After facing defeats against St. Albert and Treynor, the Cyclones bounced back with a narrow victory over Shenandoah, followed by decisive wins against Kuemper, Glenwood, and Red Oak.

Head Coach Zach Klassen praised the team's improvement, particularly highlighting senior Grace Albertsen's exceptional performance. Once averaging just 3 points per game, Albertsen has notably upped her game, averaging 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds, with standout scores of 18 against Glenwood and 21 against Red Oak.

Molly Swensen also made headlines by setting a school record with 10 three-pointers during a game against Kuemper, contributing 30 points to the win. Klassen emphasized that the depth of talent on the team has allowed other players to shine as well.
