Harlan’s girls cross country team recently celebrated a triumphant victory at the Denison-Schleswig Meet, securing the team title with five athletes earning medals. Ashlyn Rau led the charge with a first-place finish, clocking in at 20:09.98. Julia Heslink and Aspen Bieker also showcased strong performances, finishing in the second and ninth spots, respectively.
The competition saw Harlan accumulate 32 points overall, outpacing runner-up Tri-Center, which finished with 65 points. Other teams included Abraham Lincoln and Denison-Schleswig.
At the Clarke Meet, Martensdale-St. Marys claimed another championship, further highlighting the competitive spirit in the region. Harlan’s consistent performances exemplify the dedication of its young athletes.
