Harlan Native Al Larsen Remembered for Faith and Family

Albert Noel “Al” Larsen, born in Harlan, Iowa, in 1938, passed away on September 24, 2024, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments after suffering a stroke earlier that month.

Raised in a family that frequently moved due to his father’s ministry, Al graduated from Pawnee City High School in Nebraska and later married his high school sweetheart, Shirley, in 1958. He served in the US Air Force for two decades, contributing to his country while holding various civilian jobs until retiring in 2002.

Al had a deep love for his family, gospel music, and his faith, actively participating in multiple churches throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, four children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
