Harlan Residents Invited to Economic Development Workshop

The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) is hosting a Community Catalyst Building Remediation Program workshop specifically for Harlan residents. This event will take place on October 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the C. G. Therkildsen Activity Center, located at 706 Victoria Street.

This program offers grants to assist communities in redeveloping vacant or underused buildings, aiming to stimulate economic growth. Strong applications are encouraged to showcase potential for job creation, improved safety, and enhanced property values.

All city representatives interested in applying must attend this mandatory pre-application workshop, which will cover essential details about submitting requests for funding. Historical data suggests participants in these workshops often have a better chance of success.

For more information, and to register for the workshop, visit the IEDA website or contact the Harlan office at 712.733.1103.
