Harlan Community School District recently celebrated the opening of a new intermediate school and the completion of high school renovations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event featured school officials and representatives from CMBA Architects, who played a significant role in the project’s design.
This transformative initiative aims to modernize educational spaces for students in grades three through five, as well as enhance the high school facilities. The new buildings prioritize collaborative learning, safety, and student success. Harlan officials believe these upgrades will create an engaging environment that fosters academic achievement and well-being.
The total investment in the project reached $32 million, with funding sourced from a $22 million bond approved by local voters in September 2022 and an additional $9.1 million from state resources.
