HARLAN — Exciting updates are underway for welcoming visitors to Harlan. The city has installed new entrance signs at both the north and south ends of Highway 59, a project that City Administrator Gene Gettys says has been in the works for several years.
The design, which reflects community values and aesthetics, faced delays primarily due to approval from the Department of Transportation and funding challenges. However, Gettys reports that the signs have garnered positive feedback, with more enhancements to come including landscaping and lighting.
Additionally, the city has launched a video tour on its website, produced in collaboration with CGI, to showcase Harlan's vibrant community spirit. These videos have been refreshed multiple times since 2013, highlighting Harlan’s quality of life, healthcare, education, and local business opportunities.
Gettys expressed pride in portraying Harlan as a welcoming community through these initiatives. For more details on the new signs and video tour, be sure to check out the full article here.
