Harlan welcomes a new business, Rusty Rubbish, LLC, now open downtown. Owned by Bobbie Jo Cruise, this charming shop specializes in rustic and reclaimed décor, breathing new life into items many may consider junk.
Located at 805 7th Street, the space holds nostalgic memories for locals, previously home to Subs-N-Suds and DADA’s. Bobbie encourages visitors to share their favorite memories of the old shops, making it a delightful destination for community engagement.
The inspiration behind Rusty Rubbish comes from Bobbie’s passion for creativity, which fueled her business vision after retiring from a career in hair styling. With the support of her family, Bobbie transformed her hobby of decorating into a full-fledged business, offering a variety of unique pieces.
Rusty Rubbish is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12–5 p.m., Thursdays from 1–6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
