Cade Sears, a standout athlete from Harlan High School, has signed with Vanderbilt University, a prestigious SEC baseball program.

After a successful season at Iowa Central Community College, where he contributed significantly to the team's run in the NJCAA Div. II World Series, Sears announced his commitment on social media. In the spring, he boasted a .270 batting average with 31 stolen bases, showcasing his exceptional skills.

Currently, the outfielder is making waves in the Northwoods League, maintaining an impressive .325 batting average this summer. Although he initially focused on football in college, Sears returned to his first love, baseball, joining Iowa Central under coach Eric Stein, another Harlan alum.
