Harlan Community High School senior Katy Schmitz is set to pursue her passion for horseback riding at South Dakota State University (SDSU) after signing her Letter of Intent.
Schmitz, who has been competitively showing for a decade, expressed her excitement and gratitude for this opportunity. After evaluating various options, she chose SDSU for its welcoming environment and well-regarded equestrian team.
The current SDSU equestrian team holds a record of 2-4 this season, with Schmitz eager to contribute to the squad. She plans to major in pre-chiropractic studies while balancing her academic and athletic responsibilities.
