Harlan's Snethen Wins 157-Pound District Title, Advances to State

Glenwood hosted the Class 2A District 5 wrestling meet Feb. 14. The top two finishers in each weight class advance to the state tournament Feb. 18–20.

Harlan Community’s biggest winner was junior Chayton Snethen, who captured the 157-pound district title by fall and advances to state.

Several other Harlan wrestlers placed but just missed qualifying: Jude Mastin (3rd at 126), Avery Kimmen (3rd at 132), Nathan Sandquist (4th at 138), Jaden Stephens (3rd at 175), Nick Gubbels (3rd at 215) and Jaspyr Nielsen (3rd at 285). Glenwood and Atlantic wrestlers filled many of the other advancing spots.

For Harlan fans, Snethen will represent our school at the state meet — and local placings show depth on the team.
