Harvest Fest Set to Bring Fun to Downtown Harlan

The Harlan City Council has officially approved a street closing permit for the upcoming Harvest Fest, scheduled for Saturday, October 26th, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This much-anticipated event will take place in downtown Harlan and promises a day filled with fun activities for all ages.

Highlights of Harvest Fest include a movie screening of "Monster House," a Candy Walk, kids' games, petting zoo, and trolley rides. Attendees can also enjoy face decorating, a bake sale, street vendors, and various contests like pumpkin and cookie decorating, plus a costume awareness event for pets and kids. Free hot dogs will be available for guests to enjoy.

In addition to Harvest Fest, the council has designated Thursday, October 31, as Harlan's official Halloween Trick-or-Treating night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Residents are encouraged to turn on porch lights to welcome Trick-or-Treaters while reminding all to stay cautious on the roads during the festivities.
