HCHS Cyclones Shine at Tri-Center Invite; Local Runners Excel
Local runners took center stage at the Tri-Center Invite, with HCHS Cyclones winning first place, led by senior Lindsey Sonderman's impressive time of 18:49. The event highlighted stellar performances from teams across Harlan, setting the stage for upcoming meets!
Local athletes showcased their talents at the recent Tri-Center Invite, representing schools from the Harlan area, including AHSTW, Exira-EHK, HCHS, and IKM-Manning.
The HCHS Cyclones girls team triumphed, finishing first with 36 points. Senior Lindsey Sonderman led the way with a remarkable time of 18:49.06, significantly ahead of her competition.
Meanwhile, the AHSTW Vikings, though missing top runner Bella Lamp, saw juniors Makenna and Ava Paulsen perform admirably, finishing 25th and 30th, respectively. Coach Jackson Renberg praised their strong performances, especially Makenna's personal best.
The IKM-Manning Wolves and Exira-EHK Spartans also contributed to the event's competitive spirit. Austin Rasmussen from Exira-EHK secured a sixth-place finish for the boys, while the Wolves’ Camden Morris and Isaac Blankman each earned medals.
Coming up, the Cyclones and Vikings will compete at the Harlan Golf & Country Club this Saturday, while the Wolves and Spartans head to ACGC High School for their next meet.
