HCHS Cyclones Wrestlers Shine Despite Team Challenges

The HCHS Cyclones girls wrestling team showcased their talent in recent competitions despite low team numbers. Senior Addison Obrecht shone brightly, winning three matches during a quad meet against Logan-Magnolia, Tri-Center, and Ridge View. Coach Tarah Devlin-Lawler praised Obrecht and her teammates for their determination and effort on the mat.

In the Logan-Magnolia match, Obrecht achieved a technical fall victory, while her teammate Elle Stephens also earned a win with a pin. Against Tri-Center, Obrecht continued her success with a quick 35-second pin, and senior Kyrsten Madden secured a vital win, boosting her confidence.

The Cyclones placed 10th out of 15 teams at a recent tournament at West Central Valley High School. Obrecht again excelled, winning all three matches, earning praise for her developing skills and enjoyment in wrestling. Elle Stephens also impressed with two wins.
