The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting residents from Harlan and surrounding areas to take part in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 20, at Pioneer Park in Harlan.
This significant event features a Promise Garden Ceremony, where participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with colored flowers representing their personal reasons for walking.
While registration for the Walk is free, participants are encouraged to raise funds to support the Alzheimer’s Association in providing care, support, and advancing research for a cure. This year's fundraising goal is $49,000, with over $30,000 already raised through sponsorships and participant efforts.
In Iowa alone, over 62,000 people live with Alzheimer’s, supported by around 80,000 caregivers. This Walk is a vital opportunity to show support and make a difference.
