Local Family Mourns the Loss of John L. Coluzza

John L. Coluzza, 82, of Schenectady, New York, passed away on March 7, 2025. Originally from Utica, he dedicated his life to chemistry, earning both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from SUNY Albany. He worked as a chemical engineer at Knowles Atomic Power Laboratory.

John is survived by his wife Irene, son Craig, and daughter Hillary. He was a passionate reader, enjoying Russian literature, particularly Crime and Punishment. His interests included opera, baseball, and enjoying a cold beer on summer days.

Known for his dry humor and quiet devotion to family, John’s faith as a devout Catholic shaped his life and actions. Calling hours will be held at the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Schenectady on March 15, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial.
