Myrtue Medical Center Welcomes New Chief Nursing Officer
Myrtue Medical Center announces Nicole Ohlinger as its new Chief Nursing Officer, succeeding the retiring Karen Buman after 32 years of dedicated service.

Myrtue Medical Center has appointed Nicole Ohlinger, MBA MSN RN, as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). She takes over from Karen Buman, who is retiring in March after more than three decades of service. Buman played a key role in advancing nursing services and patient care at Myrtue.
Ohlinger, who has extensive experience in inpatient, ER, and OB departments, previously led Myrtue’s Surgery & Specialty Clinics. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing and an MBA from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Certified in pediatric emergency and trauma care, she is committed to continuing Myrtue’s legacy of high-quality patient care.
“I am honored and grateful to step into this role and build upon the strong foundation Karen has established,” Ohlinger stated.
She and her family reside near Portsmouth.
