Remembering Dennis Boehmer: A Legacy of Service in Harlan

Dennis Nicholas Boehmer, 70, of Harlan, Iowa, passed away on December 21, 2024, at Avera St. Benedict Hospital.

Born on December 4, 1954, in Parkston, South Dakota, he graduated from Parkston High School and later earned a degree in electronics from Mitchell Tech. Dennis was married to Sally Thiesse on May 29, 1976.

He worked for Midland Telephone in Harlan and had various roles in Sioux City, contributing to several Masonic organizations. He held numerous leadership positions, including Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa and Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Iowa.

Dennis is survived by his wife Sally, four children, and four grandchildren. His funeral is scheduled for December 28 at the American Legion Hall in Parkston, with visitation on December 27 at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home.
