Remembering Harlan's Own Ann Kathleen Silletto, 94

Harlan native Ann Kathleen (Larson) Silletto, 94, passed away on May 27, 2025. Born in Harlan, Iowa, in 1930 to Esther and Oliver Larson, who ran a local shoe store, Ann was a proud graduate of Harlan High School, where she excelled as a drum major.

After furthering her education at the University of Iowa in Speech Pathology, she and her husband, Dave Silletto, moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she contributed significantly to the community. Ann served on the Fort Wayne School Board, devoting two years as President and volunteering with various local organizations, including Meals on Wheels.

She was remembered fondly for her love of cooking, entertaining, and traveling with friends and family. Ann is survived by three children and several grandchildren. Plans for a private memorial service are being handled by Greenlawn Funeral Home in Fort Wayne.
