Remembering Jane Ferree: A Life of Love and Community

Jane Esther Ferree, 83, of Keswick, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025. Born on October 20, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska, Jane had a rich life filled with love and family.

She met her husband, William Thomas Ferree, in Harlan, Iowa, and they married in 1965. The couple later moved to Oskaloosa and then settled in Keswick, where they raised their four sons. Jane was dedicated to her family, taking pride in her role as a mother and grandmother.

In her professional life, she worked on farms and later as a custodian at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics until retirement. Jane was an active community member and volunteered extensively with the American Legion Auxiliary in Keswick.

She is survived by her four sons, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, along with many relatives and friends. Visitation will take place on June 27 at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer, Iowa. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Auxiliary in her honor.
