Janice Heilman Lucchesi, an influential figure with ties to Harlan, Iowa, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at the age of 80 in Elk Grove, California.

Born on November 2, 1944, on Mare Island, Janice was raised in Harlan before moving to Indianola, where she excelled in academics and athletics, even serving as Homecoming Queen. After graduating in 1963, she attended college and later worked as a stewardess, supporting troops during the Vietnam War.

Janice's life was marked by her unwavering support for her family, especially her husband John, as he advanced in the banking sector. They traveled extensively and raised four children while living abroad. Upon settling in Chico, California, she became an active member of her community, focusing on education and the welfare of others.

She leaves behind her children and grandchildren, as well as her twin brother, Kurt Heilman. A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in Chico on January 16, 2025.
