Phyllis Jean Hyde, a beloved former resident of Harlan, Iowa, has passed away at the age of 94. Phyllis was born to Elmer and Stella Heilesen in Harlan before moving to Council Bluffs at age 12.
She is remembered fondly by her three children, Linda Sturm, Richard Hyde, and Cheryl Hyde, along with 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Phyllis had a long career as a social worker for the Iowa Department of Human Services and enjoyed various hobbies including gardening and golfing. Known for her kindness and humor, she loved sharing meals with family, especially Sunday dinner at her home.
Phyllis will be laid to rest in Harlan beside her family on October 28, 2024. Visitation will be held at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.
