Rising Star: Elle Stephens Shines in Harlan Wrestling

In just her freshman year, Elle Stephens is already making waves in the Harlan girls wrestling program, which is in its second year. With an impressive record of 13 wins and only one loss, she has demonstrated remarkable skill, achieving ten pins early in the season.

Elle showcased her talent by dominating at the Council Bluffs Abe Lincoln tournament and the Treynor Invite. Though she faced a tough semifinal defeat at the Ridge View Tournament, she is optimistic and has learned valuable lessons from that match.

Coming from a wrestling family with both parents as wrestlers, Elle has developed her own distinct style since girls wrestling became a sanctioned sport in Iowa three years ago. Now, she aims to improve her skills, enhance her team, and set her sights on competing at the state level.

The Harlan wrestlers will take to the mat again this Saturday at a tournament hosted by Shenandoah. To learn more about Elle's journey and ambitions, check out the complete interview.
