In a recent meeting, the Shelby County Board of Supervisors approved a $2,500 annual pay increase for Interim EMS Director Jordon Sanders, following a recommendation from the EMS Advisory Council. The Board also appointed Alex Londo, the EMA Coordinator, as the new EMS Assistant Director.
Londo presented a quarterly report to the Board, mentioning a lack of local staffing from FEMA to meet the county's urgent needs. During the meeting, Chairman Steve Kenkel inquired about responses from Summit Carbon Solutions regarding pipeline safety, but no significant replies were received.
Additionally, Shelby County Engineer Chris Fredericksen provided road updates, including the approval of road right-of-way utility permits and a resolution to place a stop sign at the intersection of Yellowwood Road and 600th Street. This move will require all northbound traffic on Yellowwood to stop.
