Neil Owen Jensen, a proud Harlan native, passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with a rare neurological disease. Born on October 10, 1954, to Marlin and Sarah Jensen, Neil's life was marked by dedication to family, faith, and service.
After earning the rank of Eagle Scout, Neil graduated from Tri-Center Community High School in Neola, Iowa. He went on to the U.S. Naval Academy, serving in the U.S. Navy and receiving accolades for his commitment and leadership. Neil married Frances (Fran) Jensen in 1979, and together they raised three children while also establishing a successful restaurant business in Alabama.
A devoted member of the Christian community, Neil's influence extended through various organizations and churches, where he shared his unwavering faith and commitment to helping others. He is remembered fondly for his laughter, sports enthusiasm, and community involvement.
A celebration of his life will be held on December 30, 2024, in Huntsville, Alabama.
