Former Iowa, Iowa State, and Nebraska Players Land NFL Opportunities

Former Hawkeyes, Cyclones, and Huskers found NFL homes Sunday as undrafted free agency opened across the league. Several regional standouts are now getting their shot at the next level.

Former Iowa, Iowa State, and Nebraska Players Land NFL Opportunities

Following the NFL Draft, a wave of undrafted free agent signings brought new opportunities for former Iowa, Iowa State, and Nebraska players on Sunday.

As of Sunday evening, five former Hawkeyes, six former Cyclones, and six former Huskers had signed deals with NFL teams.

Iowa had five players land opportunities, including Ethan Hurkett with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hayden Large with the Chicago Bears, Aaron Graves with the Baltimore Ravens, Xavier Nwankpa with the Chiefs, and Mark Gronowski with the Miami Dolphins.

Iowa State also saw six former players move on to the next level. Dylan Barrett and Tyler Miller signed with the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos, respectively, while Jim Bonifas joined the Miami Dolphins and Tyler Moore received a camp invite from the Carolina Panthers. Tamatoa McDonough agreed to a minicamp invite with the Broncos, and James Neal signed with the Houston Texans.

Nebraska had six players land NFL opportunities as well. Ceyair Wright signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, Dasan McCullough and Dane Key joined the Broncos, Javin Wright and Henry Lutovsky signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and DeShon Singleton landed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
