Cyclones Volleyball Faces Tough Tournament, Prepare for Denison Showdown

The Harlan Community High School (HCHS) Cyclones volleyball team had a challenging weekend tournament in Harlan, securing two wins out of six matches. Victories were recorded against St. Albert and Missouri Valley with scores of 21-17, 22-20, and 21-6, 21-15 respectively. Despite these wins, the team's overall record now stands at 3-6.

Head Coach Elle Crees expressed pride in her players' dedication, noting the need for increased consistency and long rallies to improve their game. Highlighting individual performances, she praised sophomore Kenzley Bruck for her impressive blocking, and juniors Carly Torneten and Emercyn Reischl for their strong backcourt play and teamwork.

Looking ahead, the Cyclones are set to host the Denison Monarchs this Thursday at 7:15 p.m. Denison comes into the match with a strong record of 4-0. Last season, the Cyclones beat Denison in a decisive match, and there's hope for a repeat performance.
