Harlan Welcomes Thousands to Exciting Winter Iowa Games

Thousands of athletes from across Iowa are gearing up for the 34th annual Winter Iowa Games, showcasing a variety of sports for all ages and abilities.

Starting next weekend, competitors will participate in events ranging from alpine skiing and figure skating to trapshooting and hockey. The event, which spans several months, will kick off with a pickleball tournament on January 18th and 19th at the University of Dubuque, culminating with youth ice hockey on March 15th and 16th at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Cory Kennedy, marketing director, highlights the diversity of participants, with athletes aged from three to over 90. Harlan will join other host communities including Cedar Rapids and Ankeny in welcoming competitors.

Registration is underway, and with around 4,000 athletes expected, this year's games promise excitement for both participants and spectators alike.
