Nominate Harlan's Best: Citizen of the Year Awaits

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its prestigious Citizen of the Year Award. Community members are encouraged to participate by submitting their nominations via letter or email to the Chamber’s office located at 1901 Hawkeye Avenue.

This announcement came during the recent Harlan City Council meeting, where Chamber Director Todd Valline shared that the award will be presented at the Annual Banquet and Awards ceremony on March 21st.

Additionally, the Harlan Community High School Class of 2028 is working hard to raise $80,000 for a new video board in memory of their classmate, Mia Schwieso. Donations can be made at any Shelby County State Bank location.

This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to recognize outstanding contributions and support local initiatives.
