The Shelby County Board of Supervisors kicked off the new year with an organizational meeting on January 2. New members, Supervisors Mike Kolbe and Charles Parkhurst along with Auditor Taryn Knapp, were sworn in during the session. Bryce Schaben was elected Chairman, and Parkhurst will serve as Vice Chairman.
Several re-appointments were made, including Jay Ring as Weed Commissioner and Knapp as GIS Coordinator. Dr. Scott Markham continues as County Medical Examiner. The Board kept the current committee assignments and approved county holidays and health insurance rates. The mileage reimbursement rate was set at 70 cents per mile.
